Marty Blog is written by me, Martin Crownover, or as you may know me from other various websites, FredFredrickson (my usual online alias).

If you’re going to be reading my blog, you might as well know a little more about me. I’m a 25 year old artist and as all humans do, I enjoy lots of different things, including drawing, painting, 3D modeling, animation, game making, game playing, and reading. I’m a graduate of the University of the Pacific, and am currently employed as a production artist for a beverage / food company.

My talent is in the arts, and I am an accomplished illustrator. I have illustrated for published work, and always try to find a way to incorporate my creativity into all of my projects. I have also done much work in digital arts, and am great at working with pixels, photography, layout / design, and all sorts of other digital imaging techniques.

A lot of what you will read about me here will probably include my game making, which has been a great hobby of mine for a long time now. I began programming simple games on my old TI-86 calculator back in high school, and through learning web programming, some visual basic, and then Game Maker, it has been a fun experience for me. I grew up playing lots of games along with my brother and dad on almost all the old game systems, and ever since I have had aspirations to make my own games, either commercially or otherwise. Though I can’t really say that my current career path is pointed in that direction, I enjoy game making as a hobby, and have released a handful of free games. I plan on doing this until I grow tired of it (if I grow tired of it), and may one day start pushing it down a more commercial path… but who knows?

As far as my personal life goes, most of that will likely stay private from the blog, since I don’t really care for e-stalkers, but I will say a few things to sort of set the stage for the rest of my exploits here. I am currently enjoying my work very much, despite my loathing for traffic. My girlfriend and I are very happy together (for five years now). My mom, dad, and brother all live about an hour away, so I can go see them any time I want, and I always enjoy my time with them.

So I suppose it would be fair to say that things are pretty good for me right now, and I hope that they will continue to improve as I share my thoughts here!

Wordpress features the ability to use a globally recognized avatar, or Gravatar.  Gravatars work cross-site, and are loaded automatically when you use the email you registered with at Gravatar.com whenever you leave a comment.  You can sign up at Gravatar.com, upload your images, and have your global avatar ready in a minute’s time!
