Glad you like it, Sn1per! Make sure you do as many of the side quests as you can, and don't just blast through the main quest. There's a lot of cool side stories and references to the back story that fill out the universe, and a lot of great moments to act as paragon or renegade. You'll also encounter a lot of familiar faces in ME2! There are some tedious assignments in there, but it's worth the time investment, in my opinion.

You're probably going to be anxious to dive into ME2, though, so I guess I wouldn't blame you for being in a hurry with the first game. ME2 is worth the wait though, and is better if you've played through ME1 to a full capacity.

I'm almost jealous of how you'll experience the transition between the two games - Bioware did such a good job making the story carry over, it'll almost be like just continuing the same game!

Have to thank you Fred, excellent recommendation. I went into my local EB Today and purchased Mass Effect for a decent price. The bargain of it all was, I also got Mass Effect 2 for $109.95 and because of the deal they had going for Mass Effect they basically gave me Mass Effect for $20 because I purchased ME2.

Mass Effect 1 price: $59.95 marked down to $19.95 if you purchase ME2
Mass Effect 2 price: $109.95
All up: $137.90

Now thats a done deal!

Onto the game, almost 5 hours into the game and I am loving every moment of it, especially exploring the galaxy. I honestly have no doubts on the game, I'm really impressed with it. Also the story of Mass Effect so far I am liking, it has that certain element that just keeps me attached to it, I'm actually surprised I took the time to come online and write this message, haha.

I'm looking forward to Splinter Cell: Conviction very much too - I've always liked the Splinter Cell series, and this new game looks amazing.

Can't say I'm not more excited for Mass Effect 2 though - you really ought to play it. The first game was one of my fondest video game experiences. If you like sci-fi, and you like RPG's (especially the Bioware variety), you'll really enjoy it.

I'm looking forward to Splintercell Conviction more than Mass Effect 2, maybe it is the fact that I have't completed the first Mass Effect let alone play it. It's one of those games I've been meaning to pick up but never have.

Well, I finally picked up that last Achievement this weekend. Now AC2 will be on my "finished games" list until they add DLC and up the Achievement point totals.

In the meantime, I'm dying for Mass Effect 2... I loved the first game, and we're on the eve of the release of the second. Can't wait!

Yes, that does. I recently finished all the achievements on Halo 3: ODST, but when I went to do Good Samaritan, I just HAD to kill an engineer didn't I. My personal goal now is to complete a run through of Darksiders on Apocalyptic difficulty, oh the joy.

Well I'm trying my hand at blasting through the game now too... I didn't kill any of the guards during the aerial mission, and that's the only Achievement I'm missing now. Sucks!

You are right about blasting through the main story, but in all honesty I collected 17 of the 20 glyphs and 89/100 feathers and still managed to complete the game within 14 hours.

In regards to the DLC, I believe (I am not certain) that there will be two DLC. A January release titled "Battle of Forli" and then a February release titled "The Bonfire of the Vanities". I got my information from the 1up site but also many other sites from a quick Google.

As for your view on Multiplayer, I somewhat agree with you that the game should remain a single player franchise, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Multiplayer mode at least "experimented" with the game. It couldn't be as bad as Army of Two.

I can see how the game might have been short if you just blasted through the main "quest", but if you did everything (collecting all the treasure boxes, restoring Monteriggioni, etc.) I can't see it. A "short" game for me is 12 hours or less, and I had about double that by the time I was done with everything (except collecting feathers).

What exactly were DNA sequences 12 and 13? Are they going to be released as DLC? I wouldn't mind trying my hand at new sequences!

As for multiplayer, I'm not hot for that. Assassin's Creed 2 is a fine game, and adding multiplayer to it would ruin the experience for me. An upcoming release (not AC3, as I understand it) will take place in AC2's world but feature multiplayer - we'll see how that fares. For now, I like the game as a single player franchise, and I hope they don't ruin it by jumping on the multiplayer bandwagon.
