Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and this IGNorant writer was right on the money about the Wii’s excessive shovelware. It continues to amaze me how a console with so few good games can be so popular. He’s also right that motion control more often than not is horribly implemented.

As usual, right on the money, Marty. Not the first IGN-o-Rant I’ve seen, so I won’t risk my IQ reading that drivel. Clearly the author is off his rocker, and anyone who predicts that the end of the game industry within the next 1000 years can not be taken seriously.

That said, I continue to despair every time I see a game promo image that looks like a lingerie ad. To my eyes, the boob-tastic 90s are still alive and well. It’s marketing more than the games themselves (well, that and very horny game artists), but I think it has a very damaging effect on the overall accessibility of the gaming.

Gaming is largely stuck in an often repellent Übermensch mindset. When you compare the types of games there are to the types of movies there are, it is clear that the industry and the medium has a lot of growing to do. Can you imagine how boring films would be if every one made starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, or had little more substance than a Girls Gone Wild video? That’s basically what we get with gaming, except for those rare occasions when something risky like Portal or Braid comes along.

Damnit! There are so many goddamn guys with huge guns and guns (pun intended) that its so not original anymore! Man, someday, we got to make a game with a fatty as the main character.

Anyway, nice entry, your GTA IV comparison was pretty funny.

Photoshop IS so the reason the Games Industry will give-out in the next year, just like Google will/100% sarcasum
