Spot-on Xot. I especially liked that the Microsoft show was so strong because for the past few months, all I’ve heard is tales of how the Xbox has nothing big coming up – how wrong they were!

I’ve been watching IGN’s coverage, all three pressers are available to watch there. The big themes this year are co-op multiplayer and sharing.

Microsoft’s showing was strong. Fallout 3 is an awesome looking title. The realism of Resident Evil 5 was just plain disturbing. Fable II looks very interesting, but I’m an unrepentant Molyneux sympathizer at heart. Gears of War 2 looks spectacular. Hardcore covered. The huge media push is compelling, being able to share a Netflix movie with your Live friends is unbelievable. The Mii-like avatars might come off a bit weak, even desperate, but for the fact they are actually being used several places. The Primetime game show thing is very smart. The video-madlibs game You’re In The Movies is a very interesting idea. Lips is going to explode, being able to use your own music is huge. Microsoft set up us the bomb with the surprise, show-capping FFXIII announcement. 360 is looking very, very strong.

From what I’ve read, it seemed people were pretty underwhelmed by Nintendo’s conference this time around. I’m still kind of excited about some of their upcoming titles though, at least as far as the DS goes (I don’t own a Wii).

I followed the Nintendo and Sony conference but missed the Microsoft one. It seems that Sony and Microsoft are doing similar things such as movie downloads. I’ll probably watch the Microsoft one once a stream is made available.
